Launch is the control center of GW3-TRBO. From this panel, all other modules are executed. It also provides help and knowledge about what is going on inside each module. Launch is the heart of all GW3-TRBO operations.
If there is one screen in GW3-TRBO that displays almost everything at a glance, it is the Channel View.
The Group module provides a real-time view of activity on selected talkgroups and individuals quickly and easily. The Group module shows each group’s activity and all individual activity for the MOTOTRBO system in customizable windows.
GW3-TRBO sends commands to MOTOTRBO radios on the system. Inhibit, Uninhibit, Remote Monitor, Call Alert and Radio ‘Ping’ are performed from within the Radio Control module. Each action is logged to track when the command was sent, what user sent the command, and user input regarding the reason the command was initiated. GW3-TRBO fully supports all Radio Control commands allowed by the XCMP/XNL protocols. Radio Controls are not available on the FEU package of GW3-TRBO. Radio Ping and Radio Inhibit are available on all Network Management bundles of GW3-TRBO.
The Activity module allows a filterable and colorable view of all packets that come into GW3-TRBO from the input modules (i.e., the display screen can show every piece of information or only specific types of information the user wishes to monitor). Each type of packet can be color-coded to help identify diagnostics, PTTs, or any other type of data.
The Alias module provides the ability to assign easily recognized names to MOTOTRBO system resources from systems and talkgroups, down to sites, channels/slots, and individual radio IDs. Information can be added manually for each resource as the fleetmap is constructed for MOTOTRBO, or the resources can be added dynamically as GW3-TRBO discovers them in use on the network. Alias masks can be assigned to each level of naming to make the information received in GW3-TRBO as useful and easy to understand as possible. Locations and agencies can be assigned to radios or groups here as well.
The GW3-TRBO Archiver module can save all of the data received over the air or via the network connection to IP Site Connect or Capacity Plus repeaters. Once a data packet is decoded, it is stored in one of several data tables, depending on the packet and on how GW3-TRBO is configured. The user determines in the Archiver module which type and amount of data to store. The Archiver module allows the user to store everything, nothing, or any variation in between.
The Halcyon module in GW3-TRBO manages connections that allow for radio control messages to be transmitted directly through GW3-TRBO (when supported by licensing and network configuration. Most of the functions of the Halcyon module are transparent to the GW3-TRBO user but are important when using the RC (Radio Command) features and for future connection to a CADI (Computer Aided Dispatch Interface).
The Core Security management module allows for roles and privileges to be assigned to each person using GW3-TRBO. The GW3-TRBO interface allows for virtually unlimited users with each module and function within GW3-TRBO being assigned independently for each user. Individual talkgroups may be limited by user as defined in the Security module as well. All current users and each individual user’s activity are visible in the Security module.
The SysLog module is very similar to the SysLog functionality in the UNIX operating system. GW3-TRBO can log any problems and help track potential problems. The generated log can reside on any network location via any port. Third party applications can be configured to send selected information to HP OpenView, Motorola FullVision, pager, cell phone SMS or more.
The SysSummary module provides a snapshot of what is happening on the MOTOTRBO network at a simple glance. This simple System Summary screen will quickly show the most important statistics about the MOTOTRBO system over the last minute, last 5 minutes, last 15 minutes, last 30 minutes, last hour, last 3 hours, last 6-, 12-, and 24-hour periods. This screen may be captured and printed as well. The SysSummary module provides many graphing variations that are dynamically updated every minute (adjustable in configuration). Combined with the GW3-TRBO reports, all of the information a system owner or operator needs is readily accessible either on-screen or on-demand.
The Trigger module gives GW3-TRBO an easily configurable way to alert a user of activity (or absence of activity) in the system. This can range from PTTs for certain radio IDs, lack of activity from a certain radio, RDAC alarms or other system metrics. Configuriging a new trigger event is similar to setting up mail processing rules in Microsoft Outlook, stepping the user through the process with a series of questions/options. When a trigger event occurs, an alert can be sent to the GW3-TRBO GUI or can be sent to an external relay device
The MOTOTRBO system has no built-in function to inhibit a radio from unauthorized network use or disable a lost or stolen radio remotely from a management console. From the GW3-TRBO Subscriber Access Control, specific users can be allowed or inhibited from using the MOTOTRBO system. In the GW3-TRBO SAC module, individual IDs and talkgroups can be allowed on the network. If an unauthorized radio tries to use the system (i.e., is not in the Allowed list), the user is put into the Quarantine list. From there, the MOTOTRBO system operator can decide if the radio needs to be added as a valid unit or inhibited. SAC also allows specific radio IDs or ranges of IDs to be placed on a Disallow list. In this mode, IDs that key up on a MOTOTRBO system and are in this Disallow list are immediately and repeatedly inhibited if they show up again. Depending on the settings used, this module allows radios or talkgroup members to be tagged for inhibit and will automatically inhibit them if they appear on the system with no human intervention.
Over the years, Genesis has become known for our reports. Our reports provide a fully customizable view of complicated input data. As usage data is decoded, it is displayed live and stored. Reports can be filtered by date range, user ID, talkgroup, and many more flexible parameters. Reports are generated in MS Excel for simplicity and portability.
