The CXL 2-3 antenna is specifically designed for base station and maritime VHF band applications, providing higher gain than standard ½ λ dipoles. It features a 1” revolving nut mounting system, a standard in the maritime sector, and offers various mounting options, including masthead, side-mounted on the mast, cross-beam, deck, or rooftop installation using the FLG accessory. For optimal coverage, the antenna should be mounted as high as possible while avoiding proximity to metal structures like masts and supporting wires. It does not require a ground-plane, radials, or additional auxiliary arrangements. With a broad bandwidth and excellent VSWR performance on both Rx and Tx frequencies, the antenna ensures reliable operation. All metal components are at ground potential, providing a DC-short across the coaxial cable. Enclosed in a durable conical fiberglass tube, the radiating element is well-protected, ensuring long-lasting performance in all weather conditions.
